FUN RUN AWESOME-NESS!

Maggie participated in her school's Fun Run this morning to help raise funds to support technology in their ever deteriorating school.  Each child was to gather sponsors who could donate per lap or a flat fee and then the child had 30 minutes to complete as many laps as they could. The laps are 1/4 mile at the Junior High (located next door).  She did amazing!!!
Look at the stride on that girl!  She really knew how to book it, but then she'd sputter out to a walk.  She is  a great sprinter, struggles with pacing.  It was funny to watch her see the other kids start to catch up again and off she'd go sprinting her hardest to stay ahead.
Here she is with one of her little friends.  Maggie insisted on running with her super runner cape...well, at least for half of it.
Our little champion 1st grader completed 9 laps ( 2.25 miles) in 30 minutes!!  Why yes, I am a proud Momma.

Sea Base - End of Summer Trip

Israel wanted to squeeze another dive into the summer and we needed to get out of town so we drove down to Salt Lake City for a get away the weekend before school started.  We stayed in a hotel down there and dropped Israel off at Sea Base (outside SLC, past Toelle) Saturday morning.  Before leaving, we got to feed the fish!  It was really great!

The girls were impressed with the Nurse Shark and how noisy they are when they eat.

Feeding the Jacks.  I couldn't get a good shot of them, but they sure make a ruckus!
A lovely Ray came to say "Hello" to Maggie.

And here we have our own little bottom dweller. :D

We have some great video, but it was all done in HD and would take until next week to load, so I'll be passing on that until I get a chance to edit it.  It is fun though. Israel was feeding the angel fish some lettuce.

The girls and I were blessed to hang out with some family while Israel was diving.  We went to visit my Aunts (Virgina, Velma & Jeanette) for lunch and as always we had a great time catching up.

That evening we all drove down to Lehi, UT to visit Grandma Knoles!  She is such a card and the girls just love getting to tell her all the things they are doing these days.  Grandma is such a captive audience!  We even sang a few of our favorite songs together.

We have truly been so blessed to have so many wonderful opportunities this summer!  It was great seeing everyone and hope it won't be too long before another visit.

BACK TO SCHOOL & FIRST TIMERS

Maggie started her first day at her new school/Spectrum class August 30th.  She was so excited to being going all day and getting to bring her new Barbie lunch box.  Ahhh..don't you remember the smell of new erasers and tennis shoes?  Having a crisp new backpack and the feeling of a fresh start?
The snazzy new dudes.

Standing in the bus line with her best friend, Jamee.
So grown up!  She even gets to walk to stop all by herself now. :(
After Labor Day, Emma got to go to her first day of Preschool!  How are my babies all growing up so fast? *sniff, sniff*  She is ecstatic though and she has been trying to go to Preschool daily now, even though she only goes 2x a week. Silly girl.
My sweet Emma Lou.

Off she goes!  No looking back.
