Emma: I'll pick our Sunday movie! (quickly running downstairs)
Maggie: No, wait! Emma, I want to watch Veggie Tales: The Jonah Movie!
Emma: Maggie, that's not gonna happen.
Maggie: Emma, do I have to scoot after you?!?
Ahhh...sisterhood.

Our First Real Injury
Last Thursday Maggie broke her ankle while playing on the glider equipment at school. She was such a trooper, even though that first night was HORRIBLE! She got it splinted that evening and I gave her the prescribed codeine right before bed at about 9pm. She was OUT and I thought 'Hooray! This won't be so bad after all.' Well, when I was ready to go to bed around 11pm she was just waking up in pain. :( The saddest thing ever. Basically, we spent the entire night crying in pain or vomiting from the codeine. No breaks. At 7am she finally dropped off to sleep and thus so could I, 40 min later....more pain. It might have been my worst night ever having to watch her suffer without really being able to do a whole lot to relieve the pain, except to just be there.
Since she has been great! She got her cast on Monday (Valentine's Day) and was able to attend her class Valentine party. She was so excited, she'd been afraid she would miss it. I had to work, but Iz took her to get her cast on and when I called he said she was just declaring that "Today, is the best day of my LIFE!" See picture below to see why...
The white part is actually GLOW IN THE DARK! Is that not the coolest cast ever?!? They even put an adorable heart onto for her. As you can tell, pink IS her favorite color.
We have such wonderful friends and neighbors that were willing to drop everything and come to our aide during the whole broken ankle process and I am SO GRATEFUL TO THEM! I couldn't have made it through those first couple of days alone. Israel was working a lot and wasn't able to be there, so it was comforting to know I had people I could rely on. My friend, Shari, even put together a little "Get Better" care package for Maggie with balloons and cookies. And seriously, all the thoughtful emails written just to Maggie were wonderful and really perked her up. SHE LOVED IT! So thanks again everyone!

Can You Spot the Differences...
On the right side of the table we can see one child trying her best to be proper with excellent table manners & etiquette *note the napkin use!. And on the left.... need I explain more?

Oh how I've missed these moments...or NOT!
So, I'm standing in the hall at work and a male co-worker comes up to me and says, "You can hit me if I'm wrong, but are you pregnant?" I laugh a little and reply, "Yes, you're safe. I am." "Well, congratulations!" he continues, "How far along are you?". I tell him 18 weeks, almost half way and he says, "Oh, not that far at all!!!"
Now, my question is...how far along did you think I was? Oh great, now I have this complex of HOW pregnant I DO look vs how pregnant I SHOULD look. Oh dear, it could be a long 22 weeks.
No this is not me, but this chic is 18 wks preggers and I don't think I'm sticking out yet quite this far yet. I could be wrong though. Now anyone within internet access of me will be afraid to say! hahahaha!

Ideal Motivators
We agreed to go to the library right after lessons, if it went well, to pick out any books she wanted.
Guess what?!? IT WORKED!!
She did fabulous in lessons and it only took 2 weeks to get there.
Last night she had an epiphany as we drove home from the library. She says, "So, if I'm good next week we can take these books back and get NEW ones?!" hahaha
She's happy because she loves to read and I'm happy because her reward is FREE & Educational!! And, of course, her teacher is happy because they are focused and learning. A win-win-win! Hope it stays effective.
