  • Whole fruit Popsicles don’t count as a treat.

You are allowed 1 free treat per week that won't count against your points.  Anything more than 1 per week will count against you.  Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. will count as your free treat.

At the end of the 12 weeks, I will award prizes for the Highest Individual Point Total, Highest Percentage Weight Lost, and Most Inches Lost.  Then the team with the most points gets to split the rest of money.  But of course, everyone wins with a new body! ;0)

We will be doing a flat fee of $30 (non-refundable) for all 12 weeks.  You must send the money in advance in order to participate.  Please do not sign up if you have medical issues that might prevent you from completing all 12 weeks.  (Unforeseen issues are of course understandable.)

I will be finalizing teams the week of April 12th and you MUST have your payment postmarked by April 7th to secure a spot in the competition.  NO EXCEPTIONS

A St. Patty's Day Celebration

Green clover pancakes and milk for breakfast!  Well, that's about all we did to celebrate this year unless you count the shamrock cookies we purchased and the PBS special about Ireland.

Future Entreprenuer

The other night Maggie insisted on playing "Restaurant".  She thought up a theme and I wrote the Menu title for her and then she went to work deciding which dishes she'd like to serve.

Here she is with the pictures of the dishes that she colored and labeled on her own.  She even put on some prices.  I thought it was rather generous of her to put the entrees on special for $0.  She insisted it was a great deal.

March Madness Challenge

I've discovered that my no white flour, no sugar challenge is MUCH, MUCH easier to manage this time around than last time.  Here's a few reasons that I think that is..
#1  - I've been cutting my sweets down to once a week for almost a year now.
#2 - I've also changed my eating habits so that I only generally eat non-processed foods.
#3 - I believe that exercise combats the desire for sweets and I exercise a lot.
#4 - I cook at home, from scratch 95% of the time.

I wouldn't call it a "breeze", but I'm adapting much better.  Also, I'm not cutting out the sugar additives/substitutes that I did last time.  Though I must say that I don't think they are any better than sugar and could be much worse.  I still try to avoid high fructose corn syrup, but I'm not giving it up entirely.

I gained 3 lbs last week from becoming lazy and traveling.  So far this week I have lost all 3 of those pounds and am hoping to be down 2 more by Monday's weigh-in.  Wish me luck!

A Destination??

Reality hit a couple days ago that Cruises and Resorts during the times of year that we'd be able to go (it's not terribly easy to get time off of work for me during the school year) would be uncomfortably expensive (we are in the middle of a Total Money Makeover, too).  So after a little self-pity and consideration I thought, "How fun would it be to go to Disneyland  WITHOUT kids?!??"  I know, I know...I just might, in fact, be the meanest mom on the planet.  But, think of how nice it will be to get to stand in line with my honey AND get to ride the roller coasters too.  Also, we may be staying in St. George with some friends on the way down and go Jeeping.  So, even though I'm a little bummed that I don't get to go on my big vacation, I will feel a lot less guilt about $$ (Israel gets hotel pts for free nights) and we'll take that big trip when we are financially ready and that makes me happy.

NOW...I'm really going to focus on getting where I need to be physically before that trip happens in July.  This is helping having a REAL end date to work towards.  So, for the month of March I will be cutting out all white flour and sugar (not crazy fanatic like last time).  Wish me luck and I know I'm really close to my goal but I feel like I need more encouragement than ever.  I'm not sure why that is...I literally felt like just giving up the other day and that's just not o.k.
