April Fool's Conference Weekend

We'd had a pretty stressful week at our house, so we decided to go up to the cabin (we have great friends) and relax for the weekend while watching General Conference, sitting in the hot tub and generally doing a whole lot of nothing.  We did make it up on April 1st, so we couldn't let that go unnoticed!

And begins our adventure..

While everyone in the valley was enjoying warm sunny weather, we came to the mountains to trek through some snow but it was totally worth it.

 Happy April Fool's Day!!  Our lovely dinner of "Chicken NOT Pie" and "Raspberry Pie"

 This is in reality:  chicken=cut up apple slices, gravy=vanilla pudding, veggies=sculpted starburst candy

 In fact:  Meatloaf with cocoa powder to make it look like chocolate (didn't taste different) and mashed potatoes with pureed beets to give it that authentic berry look!

It was great fun, but as often happens with families.  The girls were SICK!  Maggie had a crazy high fever and Emma started throwing up on Sunday.  *sigh*  It was still nice to get away.
